“There is nothing permanent in life except change,” said Heraclitus.
2020 has been the most infamous year that tossed everyone from the frying pan into the fire. The cherished break you were looking for turned into an unending nightmare. Covid 19 took the world by surprise and in the twinkling of an eye, your life was never the same again. Hugs, kisses and the high five misses went rogue while masks, gloves and cool namastes were now in vogue.
Dramatically, 2020 brought the world to a standstill called ‘Lockdown’ and just when you were getting used to being locked down, the world of technology reared its head like a fire breathing dragon, and before you knew it, you were inducted into the world of virtual learning; virtual school; virtual college; virtual news; virtual parties; virtual weddings; virtual birthdays; virtual funerals and the list goes on. Can I go back in time and start again?
Undoubtedly, time and tide will wait for no man. March 2020 brought families together in one home under one roof, something everyone had been trying to achieve for ages. However, it was short lived, as it turned into a house of horrors where all the family members were assigned special corners of the house from where they signaled to each other like prisoners in a jail. The kitchen turned into a sterilizing chamber for any foodstuff that entered the home. ‘Cleanliness is next to Godliness’ became the mantra of the masses. Can I go back in time and start again?
Change is inevitable in all our lives. Change can be fearful. However, change is necessary if you want to move forward in life.
