Learners and Learning

Young children as they enter school for the first time appear inquisitive, curious and seeking assurance of comfort away from home and parents. This phase is most important for the school to establish the beautiful bond of understanding and joy of interactions. Every opportunity created by the school must be to provide suitable experience for the child to begin the liking for learning. This should be set in such a way that child becomes lifelong learner.

To get into the task of achieving happy learning by children, we need to prepare and implement every activity with careful consideration. Involving each child in the activity and setting clear learning objectives to achieve must be ensured. When learning activity is relatable and meaningful, a child gets engaged well. The self-discovery of a child in this way gets the joy of learning achieved in real sense.

Typically, a learning activity must be able to capture a child’s interest and provide suitable opportunity to become part of the same. Children with different learning abilities and potential must be able to connect with instructions provided by the teachers. This involves incorporating varied and clear guidelines for students to follow without any discrepancy. Connected learning as we may term it, we need to enhance the learning experience with music, art, play, dance and reinforce the conceptual understanding for students.

Music, dance, drawing, colouring, playing, story telling, play enactments all provide children with different learning abilities and potential to be involved equally. The experience is more exciting and makes learning continuous. Being able to connect with everyday experience is the key to let a child explore the learning beyond school. Parents need to be involved in this throughout and as much as the school. This involvement is not teaching but becoming part of the learning activity as the child would find this most enjoyable.

At MRV, the philosophy of learning is based on the approach and information shared as above. Every child is welcomed from the first day as unique and different. With “No comparison” as the motto of the school, children feel the learning approach supportive and encouraging. Multiple and interesting co-curricular and extra-curricular activities ensure that children have plenty of opportunities for self-discovery. Every day brings in new moments of exploration through these to translate into better learning, be it academic and all other associated areas. Children acquire skills and ability to take up and complete tasks successfully due to this. This is the vision and solid foundation on which our Hon. Trustees have set up the school 22 years ago. It is named MET Rishikul Vidyalaya with this noble vision of grooming each child to be developed overall as young boy or girl. Each child is confident, responsible and independent while happy to be a learner lifelong.
