MET Rishikul Vidyalaya is extremely proud of its young achievers from Grade 8, 9 and AS Level - Aishwarya Page, Sanvy Kulkurni, Kyra Jham and Riddhi Gupta. They presented their ongoing research work on sustainability to Hon’ble Shri Aaditya Thackeray - Minister of Environment, Tourism and Protocol, Govt. of Maharashtra and other eminent delegates and thought leaders at the ‘Sustainability Hackathon’ which was hosted by MET Institute of Management on 30th April 2022. The event was inaugurated by Mr. Pankaj Bhujbal, Trustee - MET in the presence of Mrs. Vishakha Bhujbal, Director, Dr. Swati Lodha, Director - MET IOM and corporate experts on sustainability.

The students spoke about projects undertaken by them in the Global Perspectives subject, as part of MRV Club initiatives. Some of the issues they highlighted were the need for - Waste Water Management to prevent industrial pollution and Biodiversity loss, Sustainable Celebrations, Climate Action, Student awareness and participation in sustainable practices and the use of Technology in sustainable solutions. The sustainable goals and practices to inculcate various methods to encourage students, staff of MRV and the community around to follow for making the environment healthier are continuously undertaken by MET Rishikul Vidyalaya.

One major initiative the students presented was the International Climate Change Summit, an international symposium that the MRV Cares Club has planned for June 2022. This will see students from around the world submitting research papers on sustainable solutions to climate change. The best of which will be awarded and recognized. The summit will conclude with a proposed solution for controlling climate change.

The confident presentation by our students was appreciated by all present and they were encouraged by the Minister of Environment, Tourism and Protocol to keep on researching and spreading awareness.

Congratulations to MRV students for brilliantly representing the school and their learning!

Hon'ble Aaditya Thackeray at MET
