MET Rishikul Vidyalaya (MRV), Mumbai, introduced Grade 7 students to the art of theatrical storytelling through an interactive literature activity based on The Girl Who Drank the Moon.

The session featured Hrishikesh Shukla, a theatre professional with over five years of experience at Ravindra Manch, Jaipur, and performance experience across Jaipur, Delhi and Mumbai.

As part of the curriculum, students performed selected scenes from the novel and received practical guidance on stage presence, voice modulation, eye contact, body language and communication. Interactive theatre exercises helped students refine their posture, movement and stage form, enabling them to understand how expressions and physical gestures contribute to effective storytelling.

The students participated enthusiastically, applied the feedback they received, and brought the novel's characters to life through their performances.

The activity highlighted the role of experiential learning in literature education, providing students with opportunities to develop confidence, creative expression, communication skills and a deeper appreciation of literary works.

At MRV – The Happy School, such learning experiences connect classroom literature with practical expression, encouraging students to communicate ideas confidently and explore different forms of creative storytelling.
