The young MRVians sparkled with energy on the joyous occasion of the Bastille Day Celebration. The event was particularly special as students from Grades 1 to 10 participated enthusiastically, showcasing their talents, creativity, and deep appreciation for French culture and history.

The celebration began with a brief history lesson on the importance of Bastille Day, a pivotal event that ignited the French Revolution. The event also gave an opportunity to our young francophones to immerse themselves in the fascinating city of Paris while showcasing their French language proficiency through speeches and songs, bringing the melodies of France to life and highlighting the diversity and richness of French performing arts. This was a highlight of the day that captivated the audience.

The event also brought back memories for several students who had recently participated in an immersive experience in France. They recounted visits to historic sites like the Eiffel Tower, Louvre Museum, and Notre-Dame Cathedral, and described their experiences with French cuisine, language, and culture. Their presentations, accompanied by photos and videos, brought a piece of France to our school and inspired their peers.

The success of the Bastille Day celebration at MRV was a testament to the enthusiasm and dedication of our students, teachers, and dignitaries. It was a day that brought our school community together, fostering a sense of unity and pride, and also highlighted the universal importance of freedom and democracy.

As a mark of respect to the French flag, everyone wore outfits in blue, white, and red, which added to the festive atmosphere and demonstrated the students' and teachers' solidarity and appreciation for France.

As we look back on this joyful and educational celebration, we are reminded of the power of history to inspire and unite. Our students have shown that through participation and enthusiasm, they can keep the spirit of Bastille Day alive, honoring the past and embracing the future. Vive la France! Vive la liberté!
